Business Continuity and Mission Critical Data

Your Vital Data at Risk

* 90% of all businesses that lose their vital data are dead within two years *
Without the ability to restore critical information after a disaster, recovery is impossible. Businesses need to safeguard their vital data in order to survive.

* Data loss is costly *
Most businesses never have a major disaster, but incremental data losses can be astronomically expensive. The cost of downtime and/or recreating lost information is often many times the annual cost of offsite data protection services.

* Data is fragile *
In order to ensure your vital data will be there when you need it, it must be protected against environmental conditions that destroy data. Data is lost at only 125° F. and 80% relative humidity. Protecting your magnetic media in a climate-controlled Class 125 data vault provides peace-of-mind from knowing your mission critical data is safe and secure.

RMA Offers Lehigh Valley's Only Class 125 Vault-Equipped Facility to Protect Vital Data

Until our new facility opened, the only choice for offsite data storage was with companies that store data in concrete or masonry vaults (which force data-destroying steam into the vault chamber when heated). Records Management & Archiving in Easton, PA has made the investment in a FIRELOCK™ Class 125-3 Hour data vault to provide true data-rated protection for critical data. This vault is also climate controlled to provide the optimum environment for both media and server units.

Critical Infrastructure - No Weak Links in the Chain of Protection

To ensure the proper climate is maintained, Records Management & Archiving uses a redundant dedicated HVAC system. An uninterruptible power supply (UPS) with power generator is ready to keep all systems operational even if there is a regional power outage for an extended period of time. A true HEPA air filtration system keeps media and server components safe from airborne impurities. To protect against heat exposure inside the vault chamber, a clean agent fire suppression system utilizing Dupont's FE-25 is ready to deploy. Early warning fire detection works in conjunction with the fire suppression system to alert the staff to any potential threat inside the vault chamber. Physical security is also critical, so strict access controls and surveillance systems are employed to safeguard the contents of the vault. All of these investments in infrastructure are necessary to ensure every client’s critical data is intact and secure.

An Offsite Data Protection Program is a Key Component in a Comprehensive Business Continuity Plan

There are many different service options that should be considered, ranging from offsite tape rotation/archival storage to server co-location programs, to find the right solution to fulfill each clients’ specific requirements. The goal, however, is universal: to survive a large or small scale disaster with minimal cost and downtime.

Tape backup strategies for SMBs - By Kelly Beavers

Suppose for a moment that a virus has infected your entire computer network. It has quickly spread through every employee's workstation, into every document and database file. All your work, all your data-it's all destroyed. How would your business recover?

Without an adequate backup and recovery plan, every business is at risk. Because companies rely on data and mission-critical applications, the cost of downtime is exorbitant, potentially exceeding thousands of dollars per hour for such expenses as recovering data and system files and replacing equipment-not to mention the loss in productivity and customers.
